avo-taco pie

This recipe was way back when my girls were little. They just loved this "pie". Everyone was into Mexican dishes then. Have the kids set the table and then stuff a olive on each finger for a treat. If you are short on time and need a quick dish, this is easy to make. I see on my notes that I got this out of a "book".

Ingredients For avo-taco pie

  • 1 lb
    hamburger
  • 1/4 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    black olives, sliced...i put the extra olives on the kids fingers
  • 1 can
    8-ounce tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg
    (1 1/4 oz) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can
    refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 c
    crushed corn chips
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • 1
    avocado, peeled and sliced
  • 1 or 2
    tomatoes, sliced

How To Make avo-taco pie

    Oven: 375 degrees Brown meat and onion in large skillet. Drain. Add - tomato sauce, taco seasoning and olives.

    Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles and place in an un-greased 9" or 10" pie plate. Pressing to form a crust. Sprinkle 1 cup of corn chips over bottom (keeps bottom from getting soggy) Spoon meat mixture over crust and chips. Spread sour cream on top. Cover with cheese and sprinkle with the remaining chips.

    Bake in a preheated oven (375) for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve wedges (pie shaped)topped with lettuce, tomato slices and avocado. Also to decorate a little more, add some sliced olives on top before you put into the oven or as a topping along with the avocado.
