This recipe is my aunt's.. but I have shared it with everyone I know. We make it quite a few times a year. Perfect Sunday dinner, and make killer sandwiches the next day (if there are any leftovers!)Serve with mashed potatoes, or egg noodles. It makes a lot of gravy! Couldn't be easier to make.

Ingredients For aunt sandy's baked steak

  • 3-4 lb
    boneless chuck roast
  • 1 pkg
    brown gravy mix - dry
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 sm
    onion - chopped
  • 1/4 c
    butter

    Preheat the oven to 325. Place the roast in a large casserole that has a lid. Combine the the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and warm until well blended. Pour mixture over roast, cover, pop it it the oven and bake for 2 1/2 hours! That's it! Melt in your mouth tender..
