Holmes County Ohio is the center of the world's largest Amish and Mennonite populations. People are surprised the Holmes County settlement is larger than the Lancaster, PA and Shipshewant, IN settlements. With a population estimated at 30,000 in Holmes, Wayne and Tuscarawas counties, the northeast Ohio Amish settlement ranks #1 in the world! It is a fun place to visit. Many shops and many restaurants! We go at least once per year. The Amish meatloaf is topped with bacon strips and a ketchup glaze. If you can you must come and visit!
