Ingredients

4
boneless skinless chicken thighs (breast can be used as well)
1/3 c
soy sauce
1/3 c
brown sugar
1/2 c
water
1 clove
garlic
1 Tbsp
ketchup
1 Tbsp
onion powder
1/4 c
apple juice
1 tsp
red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
2 Tbsp
water
brown or white rice

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Preheat oven to 350.
Brown chicken in a medium skillet (I use cast iron) until cooked through but don't over cook. Remove from heat. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over the chicken.
2
Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, stirring the sauce every 10 minutes. In the mean time, whisk together the cornstarch and water.
3
Remove from oven, take the chicken out and set aside, bring the sauce up to a simmer and whisk in the cornstarch mixture until thick. Place the chicken back in the skillet until warm, slice and serve over rice.

NOTE: You can also use bone in chicken (thighs, legs and breasts are excellent).
