Breastfeeding Support Smoothie

Bren Torres Blanco

Anyone can enjoy this yummy smoothie, you don't have to be breastfeeding to have it. However, for the breastfeeding mama, this smoothie is packed full of calcium, protein, omgega, and potasium. It also contains oat meal which helps keep your supply up and balanced. This smoothie is so tasty and filling and has all the healthy calories you need for one meal on the go or snack.

pinch tips: Perfect Bacon Every Time

1 medium
2 - 3 Tbsp
peanutbutter (i use the all natural kind)
8 oz
almond milk (original, unsweetend)
2 Tbsp
3 Tbsp
1 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg

Directions Step-By-Step

In a coffee grinder, mill the flaxseeds and the oats to a fine powder then add to the blender. Add remaining ingredients to the blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. The smoothie will be thick and creamy....not too cold though so if you want it cold then stick it in the freezer for a bit or freeze the banana (unpeeled) overnight so it's ready for the morning.
NOTE: It is important to buy whole flaxseeds and mill them when ready. If you buy pre-milled flaxseeds you do not get all the nutritional benefits as you would from milling them fresh. Store flaxseeds in the fridge. It is also important to use almond milk rather than cow’s milk as study show cow’s milk has a negative effect on breast milk. Almond milk has just as much calcium as cow’s milk and is much healthier for you and baby.
