Living in cold and snowy western NY and enjoying snowmobiling in the winter our extended family went through a ton of hot chocolate in a winter. My husband's cousin shared this inexpensive alternative to store bought mix with me and I have used it for almost 40 years. I like to put in a pretty jar for Christmas gifts.

4 cmilk, nonfat, dry

3/4 ccocoa powder, unsweetened

1 1/2 csugar

1/8 tspkosher salt
How To Make cousin caroline's instant hot chocolate mix

1Combine all ingredients, stirring well. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place.

2To use mix: Place 1/3 cup mix in cup in small amount of boiling water to dissolve mix; then fill cup with boiling water.
