We love this cider during cold weather, and especially at Christmas.

Ingredients

1 gal
apple cider
1 small
orange
1/4 c
light brown sugar
1 tsp
allspice
1/8 tsp
nutmeg
2 tsp
whole cloves
cinnamon sticks for garnish (if desired)

Step-By-Step

1Poke the cloves into the orange. Be sure the buds are still visible.
2Place the cider in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the allspice, nutmeg and brown sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a slow boil.
3Add the clove covered orange to the cider. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Remove the orange.
4Serve hot in mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks if desired.
