We love Chai tea and it's so much cheaper to make your own. This is my version of a lightened up Chai! Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ a lighter chai ~

  • 4 c
    water
  • 1
    large cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    whole cloves
  • 8 bag
    black tea bags
  • 1 c
    silk ( coconut milk ) - or can use whatever milk you like
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • cinnamon
    & whipped cream for garnish - optional

How To Make ~ a lighter chai ~

    In a medium saucepan, add water, cinnamon stick, cloves and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer, covered for 10 minutes.

    Add milk, sugar and bring to simmer again, add the tea bags and remove from stove. Cover and let steep for 2 - 3 minutes.

    Strain the tea bags, cinnamon stick and cloves.

    Serve in preferred mug with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Yum! So good!
