a wonderful whiskey sour punch
My Hubs loves a good whiskey sour so I decided a punch was in order. I make a pitcher to keep in the fridge for Hubs and friends and keep it at the ready! The sugar syrup only cooks in micro for 2 minutes (not 5). It does take about 20 minutes to cool so plan accordingly. Your lemons will be easier to squeeze and will yield more juice if you place in micro for a few seconds and/or roll on countertop by pressing down with your palm.

Ingredients For a wonderful whiskey sour punch

1/3 csugar

1/3 cwater

2 1/2 cfresh homemade or store refrigerated fresh orange juice (freshest will be in refrigerated section of produce department)

1/2 cfresh lemon juice ( about 3 large lemons)

2 cbourbon
-
3 cclub soda, chilled

fresh citrus slices, optional
How To Make a wonderful whiskey sour punch

1Combine sugar and water in a glass measure. Microwave at HIGH for 2 minutes; stir until sugar is dissolved. Cool to room temperature.

2Mix sugar mixture with orange juice, bourbon, and lemon juice in a large pitcher; stir well. Stir in club soda just before serving. Garnish pitcher or glasses as desired with citrus slices.
