    strawberries, fresh, sliced, frozen
  • 1
    orange, seeded & sliced, frozen
  • 8 c
    strawberries, fresh, trimmed & halved
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 bottle
    sweet riesling wine
  • 2 c
7-up, sprite, sierra mist or any other lemon lime pop or soda

How To Make strawberry sangria

  • 1
Prepare 1 C strawberries & orange. Freeze at least 4 hours or until ready to serve. NOTE: Having frozen fruit allows to chill the drink without it watering it down & adds flavor.
  • 2
In a large saucepan, combine 8 C strawberries, sugar & water. Bring to a boil; stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat, cover & cool to room temperature. Press mixture through a fine mesh sieve; discarding solids & you should have about 3 C or more.
  • 3
In a 2 qt pitcher, stir together strawberry/sugar mixture & wine. Cover & chill 24 hours for flavors to marry. VERY IMPORTANT!
  • 4
Before serving, stir in 7-up (or whatever using) & frozen fruit. Enjoy!
