This is a well balanced drink; not too sweet and not too tart. And so simple to make! I stopped buying mixers since I keep lime juice in the fridge anyway! This recipe is for one drink, but it is so easy to multiply. Equal amounts of tequila, lime juice and simple syrup, plus 2/3 of the same amount of triple sec. You can add as much ice as you like. I like mine cold, but not frozen or on the rocks, so I blend the ice.

Ingredients For margaritas from scratch

  • 1 1/2 oz
    jose cuervo gold tequila
  • 1 oz
    triple sec
  • 1 1/2 oz
    lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 1/2 oz
    simple syrup
  • crushed ice
  • lime slices
  • salt for rim of glass

How To Make margaritas from scratch

    rub rim of glass with lime slice
  • 2
    dip rim of glass in salt (or sprinkle it on)

    Mix first 4 ingredients in blender

    add a handful of ice

    blend til smooth

    you may add more ice for a frozen drink if desired

    pour into prepared glass

    relax and enjoy!
