I had this punch at a party many years ago and really liked it even though I normally don't care for eggnog itself. Was so happy to see it resurface in Taste of Home magazine! Oldies but goodies always make a comeback! Enjoy! (photo from Taste of Home)

Makes enough for a 4-quart punch bowl

Ingredients

1/2 gallon
peppermint ice cream, more for optional ingredient if desired
1 liter
bottle of club soda, 7up or ginger ale
4 cups
eggnog
1 cup
light rum or vodka, optional
extra scoops peppermint ice cream on top, optional
crushed candy canes to rim glasses and punch bowl , optional

Directions Step-By-Step

Blend ingredients and pour slowly into punch bowl. Serve immediately.
Optional:
Moisten rim of glasses and punch bowl and dip into crushed candy canes.
Top with extra scoops of peppermint ice cream.
