Bourbon Cough Syrup For Grown Ups by Freda
I was Talked into Posting this Recipe By an ANGEL of a friend from JAP. . . Here Ya go.
I had recently Needed to Doctor Myself due to "Virus" Symtoms, and this I found as a reminder of My Grandmothers "HOT TODDY" she used many years ago.
This is the Exact Recipe My Grand-Dad used every day and Called it his COUGH Medicine,this was sent to me By an Older Friend in his 80's, & also found on the Internet . . along with the Photo. . . Its Sure Helps a cough, Hope it Helps your FLU & Cough Symtoms.
- bourbon cough syrup for grownups
- 2 oz
- good "bourbon whisky"
- lemon, juiced (about 2 oz)
- 2-4 oz
- 7-up or water (optional)
- 1 TBS
Mix 1st 3 Ingredients,
the Bourbon, Lemon juice, 7-up/Water, into a tumbler or Mug (one that's Safe for Heat)
(you can do this stove-top saucepan method also)
Remove from Heat or Microwave,Whisk/Stir
Add: HONEY, mix well
Whisk well .
Serve Warm, and Nurse it slowly.
Directions; Can take Twice a day, AM & PM. while Sick.
(NOTE: Not reccomended for those who Work days, Boss may have a word or Two with ya along with a pink slip)
If you're sick, it's best not to drink this too hot; a good warm temperature is better. Take it to bed and nurse it slowly with a book in the other hand. Sleep well!
