Ingredients For old-fashion bread pudding with bourbon sauce

  • 16 oz
    loaf day-old french bread, cubed
  • 2 (12oz) can
    evaporated milk
  • 1 c
    water
  • 6 lg
    eggs
  • 1 (8oz) can
    crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 lg
    red delicious apple, grated
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 5 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 c
    butter, cut up and softened
  • bourbon sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    bourbon
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg

How To Make old-fashion bread pudding with bourbon sauce

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine first 3 ingredients; stir in eggs, blending well. Stir in pineapple and next 4 ingredients. Stir in butter, blending well. Pour mixture into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Bake 35-45 minutes or until set. Serve with Bourbon Sauce.

    BOURBON SAUCE: Melt butter in a small saucepan; whisk in flour and cook 5 minutes. Stir in sugar and whipping cream; cook 3 minutes. Stir in bourbon, vanilla and nutmeg and simmer 5 minutes.
