Fruit Salad

My mother and my aunts found this recipe years and years ago. This recipe is still the "guest of honor" at all of our holiday functions. Easy, 4 ingredients, but you have to start it the night before. The pudding is cook and serve but that is about as tough as this gets! To make it low fat use sugar free Jell-O Pudding and skim milk to cook, and low fat or fat free Cool Whip

cook and serve pudding
3 c
2 can(s)
fruit cocktail, canned
1 pkg
cool whip (thawed)

Directions Step-By-Step

Prepare the 2 boxes of cook and serve vanilla pudding using 3 cups of milk. Let it stand overnight in the fridge.
Drain the 2 cans of fruit cocktail and let that stand overnight in the fridge. (in my family, we leave it right in the colander sitting in a deep bowl, covered)
When ready to put it together, just fold all together saving some of the Cool Whip for the top. It is really nice garnished with marachino cherries and chopped nuts, if you like.
