lt. brown sugar

granulated sugar
2 c
water
butter, size of walnuts
1 3/4 c
all purpose flour
4 tsp
baking powder
1 c
milk
pinch of salt
1 c
pitted dates, cut into small pieces
1 c
walnuts, rolled out fine

Step-By-Step

1RECIPE FOR SYRUP:

2 C. LT BRN. SUGAR
1 C. WHT. SUGAR
2 C. WATER
BUTTER SIZE OF WALNUTS (3-4)

BRING TO BOIL UNTIL DISSOLVED GOOD, NOT TOO LONG
2BATTER:

1 C. LT.BRN. SUGAR
1 3/4 c. FLOUR
4 TSPS. BAKING POWDER
1 C .MILK
PINCH OF SALT
1 C. PITTED DATES CUT INTO SMALL PIECES
1 C .WLANUTS (ROLLED OUT FINE)

STIR ALL INGREDS. TOGETHER, THEN PUT YOUR SYRUP IN FLAT BAKING DISH. DROP BATTER BY THE TBLS.FULL IN THE SYRUP FAIRLY CLOSE TOGETHER.
3BAKE 350 DEGREES FOR ABOUT 30 MINS,
THIS WILL MAKE A LARGE AMOUNT

USE 2 MED SIZE BAKING DISHES OR 1 LG. (13x9)
