First set out the cream cheese to soften. Then make your banana pudding the way you usually do. I make it from scratch, by making a vanilla custard. While you are cooking it to thicken, add your can of crushed pineapple. when it is thick take off heat, and let cool slightly and fold in the softened cream cheese.
Layer your wafers in baking dish put a layer of bananas then pour some of the custard mix over it. Repeat layers till all custard is gone. If you like you can leave as is or top with a merangue or whip cream.
