Ali's Banana Pudding
Combine 1/2 c sugar with flour and salt in top of a double boiler. Mix in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks (save egg whites for Step 3). Stir in milk. Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Remove from heat, add vanilla.
Spread small amount of custard on bottom of 1-1/2 quart casserole; cover with layer of vanilla wafers. Top with layer of sliced bananas. Pour about 1/3 of custard over bananas. Continue to layer wafers, banana and custard, to make three layers of each, ending with custard.
