Sour Cream Raisin Pie

Recipe given to me by Aunt Ida. This was one of my Father's favorite pies and one of mine also.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp
flour
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
cloves
1/2 c
sugar
1 c
milk
1/2 c
raisins
1 c
sour cream
3
egg yolks (set whites aside)
the egg whites may be used for merangue or save for a different recipe

Directions Step-By-Step

1 pie crust prepared and baked 8" ro 9"

Mix dry ingredients, flour, cinnamon, cloves and sugar.
Add to it the milk, and sour cream. Mix well.
Add raisins. heat but do not boil.
Add a small amount of the heated mix to the mixed egg yolks.

Add egg mix back into the hot mixture and cook until thickened. Be careful you don't scorch it.

When thickened enough pour into the baked crust, cool.

You can put a merangue on it before it cools or whip cream after it is cool. Either would be good.
