Wendy's StoryI've never really been a fan of apple pie and I really wanted to like one, I don't know why :) but anyway, one of my daycare parents told me that their husband made the best apple pie...so of course I said, bring me the recipe...AND of course I switched a few things up, can't ever leave anything as is...But this is it and I hope you enjoy it!

tart apples, peeled and sliced or diced (granny smith work well)
deep dish pie shell

1Mix together sugar, flour and salt in a small bowl, set aside.
2Mix together sour cream, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and egg in a large bowl.
3Blend flour mixture into sour cream mixture.
4Add Apples to sour cream mixture and pour into pie shell.
5Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
6Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over pie. Bake another 15 minutes.

Wendy, I think I'm going to make this today. I'm looking for new apple pie recipes to try...though I wasn't looking specifically for a dutch/crumb topping pie, I know you're an awesome baker so...lol!

Oh didn't I tell you guys I made this? LOL Everyone loved it as a change of pace, particularly my 11 year old...she raved about it!
