"Simple" and Simply Delicious Apple Pie

This was the first pie my mom taught me to make. I've tweaked it a million ways over the years, but mom's is the one I always go back to.

Ingredients

1 pkg
pillsbury pie crusts, or you favorite 2 crust pastry
8 c
thinly sliced granny smith apples, peeled and cored
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1/4 c
light brown sugar
1/3 c
flour
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
(or) 1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice
3 Tbsp
cold butter

Step-By-Step

1Makes a nice 10" pie. Preheat oven to 425
2Combine apple slices,sugars,flour and spices in a large bowl and mix to cover apple slices completely. Roll out your bottom crust and fit in pie dish leaving 1/2" overhang. moisten edge with water.
3place apples in bottom crust, dot with cold butter, put on top crust, seal edges and cut slits in top crust.
4Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, covering edges if browning to much
