This is from "Home Cooking with Dave's Mom" pg. 166-167. Dave's Mom writes: "I concocted this recipe by taking the best ingredients and suggestions from three differnt sugar cream pie recipes. I've had it for years and the whole family likes it."

Ingredients For old-fashioned sugar cream pie (david letterman's mom)

18" unbaked pie shell

1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cpacked brown sugar

1/2 cflour
-
Dashof salt
-
2 cheavy cream
-
freshly grated nutmeg
How To Make old-fashioned sugar cream pie (david letterman's mom)

1In a small bowl mix sugars, flour & salt. Gradually stir in heavy cream.

2Pour into pie shell and sprinkle with grated nutmeg.

3Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees, bake for 20-25 minutes longer.

4NOTE: Center of pie will be slightly runny when done.
