Mock Apple Pie

This is a pie to make when you don't have apples but you have everything else. It is actually pretty good. You can also make it in a bar pan to make slices, just drizzle a little icing over the top.

This is a very old recipe of my great grandmother Sullivan who had 15 children.

1 large
lemon (juice and zest)
1/3 c
water

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.

Pour the apple mixture into an unbaked pie shell. Dot the top with butter (about a half a stick). Put a top crust on. Make slits in top for steam to escape.
