Miss Becky's Blueberry Beauty

This is my home-made blueberry pie, full of fresh blueberries. I combined a number of different recipes and then added a few of my own ingredients (although i keep those special extras to myself). I did not make the pie crust since i was crunched on time, so i used the BEST pie crust: Marie Callender frozen pie crust...however we all know there is nothing like a homemade crust. I recommend also trying it with a graham cracker crust! The key is BIG, FRESH, JUICY blueberries! Serve with some ICE COLD watermelon and you've got some satisfied southerners'.

Ingredients

1
frozen pie crust (or your own crust)
4 c
fresh blueberries
7 Tbsp
cornstarch
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
1/2 tsp
cinnamon (although i do a little more)
1/4 tsp
allspice
2/3 c
sugar (but my family likes it sweet so i do a whole cup)
3 Tbsp
water
1/3 c
all purpose flour
1/3 c
old fashioned oats
1/4 c
sugar
3 Tbsp
butter, melted
dash(es)
cinnamon
1
eggyolk

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 375. Brush crust with egg yolk.
2combine 2/3 cup sugar (although i do a full cup since my family likes their pie sweet), cornstarch, cinnamon, and allspice in a bowl.
3add lemon juice and water to dry ingredients and mix (will be crumbly).
4Wash and dry blueberries and throw them into the pie crust (dont worry if it looks too full, they will all mesh together).
5pour the liquid ingredients over the blueberries.
6in a small bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, melted butter, and a dash of cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over blueberries.
7bake 50-60 minutes. Enjoy! Serve with ice cold watermelon and you've got some satisfied southerners!
