Mama always made this incredible chess pie without cornmeal or vinegar or buttermilk. Just 4 very simple ingredients that are almost always on hand to make up a dessert perfect for company or everyday.

Ingredients

9" pie shell
1/2 c
butter
1 1/2 c
white sugar
3
eggs
2 tsp
vanilla

Step-By-Step

1Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in sugar and remove from heat to allow to cool slightly.
2Beat eggs until frothy in a separate bowl and add slowly to butter mixture. Stir in vanilla.
3Pour into pie shell and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
