My ex husband's aunt gave me this recipe when I was very young. That was many years ago. This is a really easy recipe and uses Bisquick for the crust! If you are a person who likes more spices, by all means go ahead and experiment. It might be wise to try the original recipe first. Just saying....

Ingredients For hamburg pie

  • 1 c
    bisquick mix
  • 1 lb
    hamburger
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped finely
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 1 1/2 c
    cottage cheese
  • 2
    eggs
  • paprika

How To Make hamburg pie

    Make bisquick crust by adding milk to the bisquick mix and press with fingers into a pie plate. Try to work up pie plate sides evenly also. Cook onion that has been chopped finely, until translucent, add hamburg and slightly cook in frypan. Add to pie crust in plate.

    Combine Cottage cheese, eggs which have been slightly beaten and mix together. Place over hamburg and onions. *Don't mix into hamburg mixture it's like layering. Sprinkle paprika over top for a topping.

    * You can use any type paprika you want but I use regular; your choice! Bake in a 350 oven for 1/2 hour or until brown
