Grandmother Van Horn's Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

deep dish pie crust
30 oz can(s)
pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
6
large eggs (can substitute 4 whole eggs and 3 egg whites)
6 Tbsp
butter (no substitution)
6 Tbsp
flour
1 1/2 c
sugar (can substitute splenda)
2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ginger
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg

Step-By-Step

1Place pumpkin, butter, sugar and spices in a high-walled pot or skillet. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
2Remove pumpkin to a large mixing bowl. Mix in the beaten eggs and flour until smooth.
3While still hot, pour into a deep-dish pie plate lined with a flour crust.
4Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 70 minutes.
5Remove from oven to wire rack. Cool completely.
