Ellen's Notes:

A very old recipe from my files. Haven't made this in years. And if you're one of those people (like me) who doesn't enjoy making pie crust, guess what? This pie has no crust! How great is that?

Directions

1
In a small bowl or measuring cup, melt the chocolate in microwave; let cool.
2
Set out the cream cheese to soften at room temperature.
3
In a large bowl, add sugar to the cream cheese, blending well.
4
Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla.
5
Measure 2 Cups of cheese mixture in a separate bowl and fold in chocolate.
6
Add lemon juice to remaining cheese mixture and pour into well-buttered 10-inch pie pan. Top with the chocolate mixture.
7
Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack and then chill.
8
May garnish with whipped topping and chocolate curls.

Sounds really good, Ellen.
I love the flavor of chocolate and orange together. Do you think using orange juice instead of lemon juice would give that flavor? Or is the lemon flavor not noticeable in this dessert?
Can't wait to try this! I have to get some cream cheese. I'm adding it right now to my grocery list.

Susan,
I'm getting ready to make it right now. Going to take plenty of pictures, and then dive in! I don't believe you can taste the lemon. I use it in another cheesecake recipe and you can't even tell it's there.

Cin, actually my boyfriend took this picture and a couple others maybe two years ago--he's a great photographer! Thanks--I'm glad you like it and I'll pass the compliment along to him.
