deep dish apple-blackberry pie

I had some extra blackberries that i didn't know what to do with, and I had apples. So, I made an apple pie and mixed in the berries and WOW! what a pie! I used Stevia sweetener, but you can use the same amount of regular sugar.

Ingredients For deep dish apple-blackberry pie

  • 1-1/2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 6 lg
    granny smith apples
  • 2/3 c
    plus 1 tbsp stevia sugar sweetener, divided
  • 1/4 c
    cornstarch
  • 2 c
    fresh blackberries
  • 1
    9" deep dish pie crust

How To Make deep dish apple-blackberry pie

    Heat oven to 350. Spray a deep dish pie pan w/ cooking spray. Cut apples into chunks, w/ peel on, Or you can peel, if you like. Toss apples w/ lemon juice.

    In bowl, mix 2/3 cup Stevia w/ cornstarch. Toss w/ apples, mix well. Add berries. Spoon into crust. Top fruit w/ top crust.

    Slice vents into top crust and brush w/ a little water. Sprinkle top w/ 1 tbsp stevia. Place pie pan on a baking sheet. Bake 40-45 mins, or until bubbly. Place foil around edges if browning too quick. Take foil off the last 10 mins.
