Bought two pints of really large strawberries and started to experiment. This recipe turned out pretty darn good, if I say so myself. Even though I tried to cut down on the sugar, I ended up adding whipped cream at the end. Just seemed a sin not too:) Enjoy!

Ingredients

2 pt
fresh strawberries
1/4 c
splenda
1/4 c
sugar
zest of one orange
1 Tbsp
corn starch
1/4 tsp
cinnamon
1
pie crust shell
1/4 c
additional sugar
1 pinch
salt

Directions Step-By-Step

Slice 1/2 pint of strawberries into a bowl.

Mash strawberries.

Make pie crust or use store bought.

Fork the bottom of the pie crust before baking.

Bake pie crust as usual and let pie cool completed before filling.

Add orange zest, cinnamon, corn starch and salt to mashed strawberries.

Slice rest of strawberries.

Add additional 1/4 cup sugar to sliced strawberries.

Pour strawberry mixture over top of sliced strawberries.

Refrigerate several hours.
