Bought two pints of really large strawberries and started to experiment. This recipe turned out pretty darn good, if I say so myself. Even though I tried to cut down on the sugar, I ended up adding whipped cream at the end. Just seemed a sin not too:) Enjoy!

Ingredients

2 pt
fresh strawberries
1/4 c
splenda
1/4 c
sugar
zest of one orange
1 Tbsp
corn starch
1/4 tsp
cinnamon
1
pie crust shell
1/4 c
additional sugar
1 pinch
salt

Step-By-Step

1Slice 1/2 pint of strawberries into a bowl.
2Mash strawberries.
3Make pie crust or use store bought.
4Fork the bottom of the pie crust before baking.
5Bake pie crust as usual and let pie cool completed before filling.
6Add orange zest, cinnamon, corn starch and salt to mashed strawberries.
7Slice rest of strawberries.
8Add additional 1/4 cup sugar to sliced strawberries.
9Pour strawberry mixture over top of sliced strawberries.
10Refrigerate several hours.
