CHOCOLATE WHIPPED CREAM PIE .. from scratch

I made it yesterday for my grand daughter visiting from Seattle.
Oh sure I know, there is instant pudding, whipped cream in a can, ready to bake pie crusts, etc.etc.
But once you make and taste the difference of a homemade pie,from scratch with pure ingredients,Then you can truly say..it is heavenly. Another desert to die for!!

- 3/4 c
- 1/3 c
- corn starch
- 1/2 tsp
- 3-3/4 c
- 5 large
- egg yolks
- squares (3ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 2 Tbsp
- butter cut into pieces
- 2 tsp
- 1 c
- heavy or whipping cream
- next chocolate wafer crumb crust :
- 1-1/4 c
- chocolate wafer crumbs..24 cookies
- 4 Tbsp
- butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp
4Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate, butter and vanilla until butter melts. Pour hot filling into the pie shell..press plastic wrap onto the surface. Refrigerate until,filling is set. About 4 hours.
With the mixer at med speed whip cream till stiff peaks form, Spoon over the top of pie. Sprinkle with a few save chocolate crumbs.
