CHOCOLATE WHIPPED CREAM PIE .. from scratch

I made it yesterday for my grand daughter visiting from Seattle.
Oh sure I know, there is instant pudding, whipped cream in a can, ready to bake pie crusts, etc.etc.
But once you make and taste the difference of a homemade pie,from scratch with pure ingredients,Then you can truly say..it is heavenly. Another desert to die for!!
- 3/4 c
- 1/3 c
- corn starch
- 1/2 tsp
- 3-3/4 c
- 5 large
- egg yolks
- squares (3ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 2 Tbsp
- butter cut into pieces
- 2 tsp
- 1 c
- heavy or whipping cream
- next chocolate wafer crumb crust :
- 1-1/4 c
- chocolate wafer crumbs..24 cookies
- 4 Tbsp
- butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp
Heat oven to 375F.
Mix together crumbs, melted butter sugar till evenly moistened. Press into a 9 inch pie plate, firmly in the bottom an up the sides, with a small rim. Save 2 tablespoons of crumbs for topping later. Bake 1o minutes, cool on a wire rack.
With the mixer at med speed whip cream till stiff peaks form, Spoon over the top of pie. Sprinkle with a few save chocolate crumbs.
