Candied Walnut and Cranberry Spice Pie Crust

Just in time for Thanksgiving. Give your favorite pie a new twist. The tart cranberries and candied walnuts really play well off each other while the molasses gives a smooth finish.

Ingredients

1/2 c
cranberries, fresh
3/4 c
candied walnuts
1/2 c
instant oatmeal
1/2 c
irish oatmeal (steel cut)
2 Tbsp
dark brown sugar
1/2 stick
butter
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/4 c
flaxseeds
1 Tbsp
molasses, dark
1 tsp
vanilla
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
allspice, ground
water if needed

Step-By-Step

1Place all ingredients in a food processor.
2Pulse about 5 times then blend smooth.
3If needed, add a teaspoon of water at a time.
4Press into a greased pie dish.
5Fill with pie filling. Bake as usual.
6If leaving pie crust exposed, use a pie ring for half of the baking time.
