Sherri,I have never had Buttermilk Pie. I recently made a very delicious Buttermilk Fudge. I'm on a Buttermilk Kick now! Would you please describe what Buttermilk Pie tastes like! I don't think it's going to taste like the fudge because the fudge contains baking soda. The baking soda has a chemical reaction with the buttermilk which causes the buttermilk to change it's flavor. The fudge actually did not taste like buttermilk at all! Ironically,it tasted like a combination of caramel and praline pecan! LOL Thanks,Rosa Bood

It really kind of taste like a lemon custard almost with the addition of the lemon flavoring, I suppose you could add any kind of flavoring and have it taste a little different, as far as the buttermilk, it just makes it creamy, and a little buttery, it is hard to describe, but it is DELICIOUS!
