Brown Sugar Pie

This is another old recipe. It is from my Great Aunt Mae. It is another tried and true favorite of family and friends.

Ingredients

1 baked pie shell
4 egg yolks
4 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sweet milk
butter-size of a walnut(4 tablespoons)
1 teaspoon vanilla

MERINGUE

4 egg whites
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
4 teaspoons of water
8 tablespoons of sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook in double boiler until thick as desired. (I cook in a saucepan over medium low heat.)

Pour filling in a baked pie crust.

Make meringue. Spread over filling and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Do not open door until time is up.
