Best Ever Almond Apple Pie

I had this pie at a restaurant several years ago, and loved it. I tried to copy it, but never could get it the same as how they made it. My husband says mine tastes better! Very delicious and a family favorite! Try it yourself! A great way to use all those fall apples!

Ingredients

1
refrigerated pie crust

FILLING

1/2 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
3/4 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
almond extract
7 medium
apples, granny smith is best, peeled and thinly sliced

TOPPING

1/2 c
flour
1/2 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
butter ( not margerine)
1/2 c
sliced almonds

Directions Step-By-Step

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake pie crust until slightly golden.

In a bowl, mix filling ingredients, leaving the apples until last. Make sure the apples are completely covered.Put into crust.

Mix topping ingredients together except almonds. Spread over apple filling and bake for 25 minutes. Remove and add almonds and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Let it cool for about an hour. Enjoy!
