Marina's notes for this recipe:
The Amish are well known for their baked desserts, it's no surprise that when you look in an amish cookbook almost half the recipe's are a dessert of one type or another. One of the main reasons is because everything is made from scratch. (and who doesn't love fresh baked goods?!) This recipe is so sweet and tasty and the smell of vanilla and cinnamon absolutely fill the house for hours after baking it.

First step, mix all the crust ingredients completely together by hand till well blended then press into the sides and bottom of a 9 X 13 pan.
Second step: layer the apples on the dough. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar and dot with butter. Cover and bake for 15 minutes at 350.
3rd step: mix two well beaten egg yolks with heavy cream and vanilla then spoon over the apples and bake uncovered for an additional 30- 40 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream.
