In an airtight jar, place 1 or 2 vanilla beans. I always use the hulls that are left once I've split and scraped the seeds for another use. They still have lots of great flavor and aroma to give!
Pour sugar into jar over beans. Close tightly and leave sealed for 3 days. Use anywhere you would use sugar: in your coffee, tea, baking, etc., as noted above.
Once you have used about half the jar, top off the sugar, leave for 3 days, and you will have a replenished stash.
