Been making these for some time now,To be honest always bought my shells. My nephew bought me the cannoli tubes for Christmas so I experimented with a few different recipes and came up with this easy easy shell recipe! Because Im all about easy when it comes to cooking.

Ingredients

shells
2 1/2 c
flour
1/2 c
shortening
3 Tbsp
marsala wine (or white wine)
3 Tbsp
sugar
1
egg
filling
1 lb
ricotta cheese
1/2 lb
whipping cream
1 c
sugar
1/2 tsp
vanilla
1 tsp
maraschino cherry juice
1/2 tsp
orange rind
mini choc chips, cherries, nuts, for decorating

Step-By-Step

Step 1 Direction Photo

1For Shells Mix flour and shortening then add rest shell ingredients with a pinch of salt. Roll thin and cut into 3in squares. Wrap around cannoli tubes overlapping and sealed with egg white. Fry in hot oil til golden brown.

2Filling-Whip ricotta and sugar. Mix in rest of ingredients except whipping cream.
Whip the cream and fold in ricotta mix,
Fill shells and add extras (Choc, nuts etc.)
I put filling in piping bag.

Step 3 Direction Photo

3Decorate as desired. Refridgerate for hour to set before serving.
