Malted Butterscotch Bars - Steph

These melt-in-your mouth bars were served at a function I recently attended. The malted milk powder adds a tasty twist to these bars. A great accompaniment to a cup of coffee or cold glass of milk!

Ingredients

1 c
all purpose flour
1/2 c
powdered malted milk
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1/3 c
shortening, melted
1 c
brown sugar
2
eggs
2 Tbsp
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 c
chopped pecans

Directions Step-By-Step

350 degree oven. Coat a 9x 13" pan with cooking spray.

In medium bowl, sift together flour, malted milk powder, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, add melted shortening to sugar. Add eggs; mix well. Add milk, vanilla, nuts, and flour mixture. Mix well and pour into prepared baking dish.

Bake 25 - 30 minutes. Mark into bars while hot. Remove from pan when cool.

Note: Add 1 cup butterscotch chips for a truly rich flavor. DELISH!
