This is another one of those recipes that my family has made for years and we all fight over to bring home after holiday dinners... if there is any left.

Ingredients

KRINGLE

1 c
water
1 c
butter
dash(es)
salt
2 tsp
almond extract...or to taste
1 c
flour
4
eggs... room temperature

FROSTING

2 c
powdered sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp
cream
4 Tbsp
butter
1 tsp
almond extract

TOPPING

1 c
almonds, slivered

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven 450.
Bring water, butter, salt , and almond extract to a boil...

Let cool slightly...Add flour and mix well

Add eggs one at a time making sure each egg gets mixed in well.

Spread out onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment or sprayed with cooking spray. I do mine in a circle or you can do it in one long piece, about 1/2 inch thick.

Bake for 15 min at 450 ...DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR!
Then turn over down and bake at 325 for 35 min. STILL DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR.

Once out of the oven let cool slightly and using a fork poke holes in it.

Mix well frosting ingredients.

Once it has cooled but still warm top with butter cream frosting and slivered almonds.
