Ingredients

4	granny smith apples
1	loaf of white bread, cubed, crust removed and discarded
1 tsp	cinnamon
1/2 tsp	nutmeg
1/4 tsp	salt
1 c	brown sugar, packed
1 stick	butter or margarine

Jeanne's Notes:

This is a very good but easy dessert to make in the crockpot. I have even added a cup of golden raisins for extra taste and texture. Great served warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Directions

Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths; place in bottom of crock.

In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and spices.

In a medium bowl, combine bread cubes, butter mixture; toss together. Pour on top of apples in the crock.

Cover and cook on low setting 2 to 3 hours.

i am a huge apple lover, i will have to try this, as it is like a bread pudding but with apples.. ty Jeanne and will let you know how this works out for us =]
