My Mohter, may she rest in peace, used to make these delicious little dessert "christmas balls" every year. She passed it down to me and I love 'em! You will too!

Ingredients For colered fried balls

  • 2
    eggs
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp
    heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour - may have to add somemore
  • honey-to coat thoroughly
  • colored nonpereil-baking section
  • 1/4 c
    canola or vegetable oil

How To Make colered fried balls

  • 1
    Beat all eggs and cream or milk.
  • 2
    Add flour and salt. Mix by hand. Soft dough will form, add flour as needed until ball forms.

    Chill for 15 minutes. Then pinch off dough and make grape sized balls with all dough.

    Fry balls in hot oil. Foam may appear. Be careful. Fry until golden brown.

    Drain fried balls on paper towels.
  • 6
    Put in medium sized bowl and drench with honey.

    Add colored nonpareils and mix. Enjoy!
