This was something my Mother made. It is so simple.. A word of warning, YOU MUST KEEP AN "EYE" ON THIS, THE ENTIRE COOKING TIME....One of my Daughter's, fell asleep, and scrapped it off her ceiling for weeks !!!!!

Ingredients For carmel

  • 1-14oz can
    condensed milk
  • 1 box
    vanilla wafers cookies

How To Make carmel

    R4move label from condensed milk, DO NOT POKE HOLES IN CAN, OR OPEN CAN. Fill 5 Quart dutch oven with hot water, place milk in pot and cover.Bring to rolling boil, reduce heat, making sure milk is constantly covered with water. BOIL 3 HOURS. Remove from stove, put UNOPENED CAN in refrigerator overnight.Open can, use spatula to remove "carmel" place carmel in bowl.

    you can serve the carmel, by spreading on vanilla wafers. People will think you are "crazy", but this deseert will win raves, and no one will believe you made condensed milk into carmel. When the "sweet tooth" hits, just eat a spoon of it !!!
