I love scones but my husban dislike them. I tried this recepie and he loved them. They are very soft & moist scones.

Ingredients For blueberry scones

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter
  • 2/3 c
    powder sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange rind,grated
  • 1 tsp
    lemon rind, grated
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c
    fresh blueberries

How To Make blueberry scones

    Stir all dry ingredients in a bowl. Than add cold unsalted butter & mix until mixture appears like grains. Use a fork or hands..set aside.

    Beat wet ingredients: heavy cream,eggs, orange,lemon grated rinds & vanilla until combined. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredient. Mix gently, dough will be sticky..just add a little flour to board when combing it together. Form dough into a circle & cut into pie shape slices. Melted butter ,eggwash or sugar can be added to top of sliced scones before they go into the oven. I used butter & Later put a glaze on them.

    Place scones on cookie sheet with parchment paper. Preheated oven, Bake @ 400 degrees for 15-18 min or a golden color

    Glaze: 1/12 cups powder sugar 1 tblsp orange juice & 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tablespoon heavy cream. Stir until smooth & apply on warm scones.
