Colleen's Notes:

This is such a nice treat! My entire family loves this! We all do sugar free for the most part... but occationally we try something new.

I served this to my nephew Scott and our Missionaries the other night... and they were thrilled with it!

We have a couple of different brands, several flavors and all are sugar free!

We don't use alcohol... but we know people who have tried it that way... I also have a friend who makes Bloody Mary Slushies.

Feel like a kid again! Get a snow cone/slushie maker! We just bought a new one... like is much better than our old ones!

With holidays and camping coming up... this will be popular!

Directions

1
For Snow cones: Set your machine to snow cone. Put in ice and make as much as you desire. Scoop into snow cone paper cups or any kind of cup or glass. Pour desired amount of syrup over snow cone. Serve.
2
Slushies: Set Machine to "slushie" setting. Put in ice cubes. Turn machine on... Fill glass with the prepared ice and pour in some syrup to taste. Stir until is is slushie. Serve.

*** You can buy syrups that are not sugar free too. Also, you can add "adult" ingredients....

*** Iced coffee's and tea's work well with this too.

In the heat of the summer I do slushes this way with lemonade mix...just use lemonade powder and water to consistency you want to drizzle in..it is soooo refreshing on one of those hot days working in the yard, and is amazing how much more it refreshes you over a regualar drink! Thanks for posting Colleen!

Hi Debi.... Thanks for the comments! I agree with you... drinks seem so much colder and refreshing this way.... we take the machine camping and to the parks...The kids just love it... and it is so inexpensive too... I do the sugar free... but you can do anything really... Take care Debi... you are a sweetheart!!! xo

I was thinking about getting one of those machines last fall when they were on sale @ Walmart, but never got around to it. Will have to do so this year, especially now that Vicky and her family will be moving down here.

Can you tell me, what is "sugar free jelly belly snow cone" in the recipe and also you list syrup. Isn't syrup sugared?

A Moseley, Jelly Belly is the brand of snow cone syrup, and they do make it in sugar free... Not all syrups are made with sugar... We enjoy making these all year long... but especially on hot days or for parties....
