Our little Maltese loved frozen treats. She also loved Peanut Butter. This recipe combines both so she loved them.

Ingredients For peanut butter & jelly frozen treats

  • 4 c
    plain yogurt, low or fat free
  • 1
    ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 c
    blueberries
  • 3 Tbsp
    peanut butter, natural and salt free is preferred
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make peanut butter & jelly frozen treats

    Stir all of the ingredients together into a medium bowl.

    Pour into a blender and puree until smooth.

    Pour the smoothie into ice cube trays or molds and freeze.

    STORING: This recipe is for dog treats, if frozen into smoothie pops, will last for 6 months or more in the freezer. You can keep the smoothie in it's liquid form, refrigerated, for about 1 week.

    YIELD: Using a 1/2 inch ice cube tray you will make 32 treats.

    TIPS: >If using natural peanut butter that has been opened it will be cold from the refrigerator. Warm it at room temp. or measure amount needed and warm in microwave for 5 seconds. >Substitute other berries if you wish. Use berries in season such as strawberries, raspberries, etc. or you may use frozen berries. >Ice cube trays are available in many varieties seasonally. >Humans may eat these treats too. You may want to add sugar, honey or other natural sweetener as they are quite tart. >These are great to add liquid dog vitamins or supplements to when needed. It is unlikely the dog will detect the addition.
