Ingredients For cupid's martini (frozen custard)

  • 5 lg
    whole eggs (not just the yolks)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 stick
    vanilla bean
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 c
    milk (whole or 2%)
  • FOR FLAVORING YOUR CUSTARD
  • 6 pkg
    andy's mints chopped
  • 1/2 c
    hot fudge topping
  • TOPPINGS
  • 1 jar
    maraschino cherries (you will only use a few)
  • 1 sm
    container of whipped cream (or you can make your own)
  • CHOCOLATE DECORATIONS AND MARTINI GLASS RIM
  • 1/2 c
    melted red candy melts
  • 1/4 c
    red candy crystals

How To Make cupid's martini (frozen custard)

    Have your ice cream makers container frozen until ready to use. Slice length wise your vanilla bean and remove the seeds. in a medium saucepan, add your milk and cream, Put on low heat. In a med to large bowl, add your eggs and whisk. Don't whisk them hard,

    Add your sugar, vanilla bean seeds, vanilla extract and mix until dissolved.

    Carefully add your hot milk/cream mixture whisking the entire time. After all is incorporated, place back into your sauce pan.

    Cook whisking constantly over medium heat for about 5-8 minutes. It should slightly thickened and coat the back of your spoon. Be careful not to over cook, you don't want it to set while chilling in the frig

    Put mixture into a bowl and place in the frig until cooled. Get your ice cream maker ready, pour the mixture in and turn on for about 20-30 minutes.

    Gently fold in your hot fudge sauce (Not hot, but room temp) and chopped Andy's mints (Chop to your desired size).Place in the freezer for about 3-4 hours.

    Dip the rim of your martini glass in melted chocolate then press on sugar crystals. To melt the chocolate place over a bain marie (double boiler) two scoops per glass, garnish by striping with heated hot fudge, whipped cream cherry and a Andy's mint. With the extra melted chocolate you can make hearts, X's and O's ...what every you wish :)
