Even though if you seen me you would say she must eat sweets all the time.Well I do like to be healthy once in awhile.My family likes this combination and I thought you might like it also. Its fresh and good so I hope your family likes it too.

Ingredients For zelda's sauteed apples with toasted walnuts

  • 1 Tbsp
    real butter
  • 4 lg
    granny smith apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    lime juice and pulp
  • 1/4 c
    white grape juice
  • 1 tsp
    lime peel,grated
  • 1 Tbsp
    maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp
    allspice, ground

How To Make zelda's sauteed apples with toasted walnuts

    In a large nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Toss apples with lime juice and pulp. Add apples in the skillet and sauté for about 2 minutes. Then cover with crumpled aluminum foil and simmer until the slices are just tender, about 4 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer apples to individual serving dishes. Add grape juice, lime peel, maple syrup or honey,,allspice and nutmeg to the skillet and boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes a syrup, about 2-3 minutes. Toast walnut by heating them in an ungreased nonstick skillet, shaking constantly, until they begin to brown and are fragrant. Pour syrup over apples, sprinkle with walnuts and serve warm.
