This is a great recipe for dessert or a side-dish. My husband just loves the tangy-sweet taste! I love the fluffy texture. Everytime DH eats this he says it reminds him of the time he spent in Georgia when he was in the Army!

Prep:

30 Min

Ingredients

2 box
(3 oz each) strawberry jello
1 can(s)
(20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
2 c
buttermilk
1 pkg
(8 oz) cool whip, defrosted

Directions Step-By-Step

1
In a small saucepan bring the pineapple to a boil and pour into a large heat proof mixing bowl.
2
Add the 2 packages of strawberry jello and mix until the jello is completely dissolved.
3
Add the 2 cups of buttermilk and mix well. Allow this mixture to cool on the counter for about 20 minutes.
4
After the jello mixture has cooled carefully add the Cool Whip until well mixed. I use a whisk for this step.
5
Pour the mixture into a 2 quart baking dish and chill until set.
6
Serve cold as a side-dish or dessert. This has a nice tangy taste and goes well food.
