fresh strawberries, sliced
1In a medium pot, combine the half & half and cream. Brind to a simmer.
2In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt. Slowly pour about half a cup of the hot cream mixture into egg mixture, whisking continuously. Pour the mixture back into the pot.
3Cook, stirring constantly, till the mixture just starts to thicken, about 5 min. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Chill till completely cooled.
4To serve, place the strawberries in a bowl or cup and pour the cream over the top. IF the cream has set up too much and is thick, stir in half a cup of milk to thin out.
